
A financial professional for over 30 years, and founding partner of Iron Legacy Wealth Advisors, Brian specializes in Financial Planning for Successful Business Owners and their families. With his enthusiasm, dedication, and extensive knowledge, he helps his clients create a financial roadmap distinctive to their unique needs by putting “their lives” into their financial plan. Areas of particular expertise include all facets of business and succession planning and coordinated legacy/estate planning strategies.
Brian is a member of Sagemark Consulting Private Wealth Services (a select member group within Lincoln Financial Advisors which focuses on clients in the high net worth market). As a Business Intelligence Institute® Specialist, (a group within Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. that focuses on business succession strategies) he brings creative design ideas to his clients in all areas of business owner planning.
Brian attended The Citadel in Charleston S.C. where he earned his degree in English Literature with an emphasis in economics and business. After graduating in 1988 with the honor of Distinguished Military Graduate he was commissioned as a Regular Army Officer and served four years on active duty; prior to entering active service and during his tenure at The Citadel he served in the South Carolina National Guard, completing basic training at the age of seventeen in 1983. After completing an active tour in Germany, he continued his career as an officer in the Army Reserve Components and had two successful Battery Commands in the South Carolina National Guard, retiring as a Major in 2004 with 21 years of service. He received numerous Army Commendations and completed Army Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Army Airborne School and graduated from the Combined Arms and Services Staff School. As a “student of the business”, Brian has earned the “CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™” Practitioner (CFP®) certification, as well as the (CRPC®), Certified Retirement Planning Counselor, (CBEC®), Certified Business Exit Consultant and (AIF®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary* designations.
Brian gives back to his community by being an active member with the Boy Scouts of America and by serving on the Board of Harvest Community Charities. In addition, Brian volunteers, supports, and serves on committees for many organizations. Brian also gives back by educating the community at large with financial education workshops.
Brian and his wife Gretchen reside in Birmingham, Alabama, they have two children and enjoy adventure travel, equestrian activities, fly fishing, golf and spending time with their family.
